Like so many other people in the late eighties and early nineties, my sisters and I apparently loved the Hellraiser franchise. We’ll just overlook the fact that we were exposed to Pinhead before the age of ten. I have seen multiple sequels that have featured a mute girl in a deranged asylum, a weird statue thing that eats people, and even one in which a space station acted as a giant puzzle box! Needless to say I am intrigued by the possibility of a new, well-done addition to the franchise. Keith Mann is another fan who is quite interested in what is planned.
Clive Barker delivers his take on a reboot at http://screenrant.com/clive-barker-hellraiser-reboot/. The creative force behind the infamous Pinhead offered possibilities without giving away anything concrete. I believe a Hellraiser reboot will be successful if Barker develops an awesome fresh script, has the appropriate support from the studio, and finds a fantastic actor to resurrect Pinhead. As a horror fan, I eagerly await more news about this developing project.
