Terpins is a name you will not fail to hear being mentioned if you are a keen follower of sporting action in Brazil. The Terpins family is one of the richest sporting families in this economy with the two brothers Rodrigo Terpins and Michel Terpins following in the footsteps of their father Jack Terpins a famed Brazilian basketball player of the 1960s and 1970s. Despite following a different sport to their father’s, the two rally drivers have been able to carry the family name high through their many achievements.
Michel Terpins aged 40 years followed his elder brother, Rodrigo Terpins in 20002 when he debuted the rally competition under the motorcycle category. After some time, Michel crossed over to the cars category where he joined Rodrigo as his navigator. Michel was impressive as he helped drive his brother to many victories. After acquiring some experience, Michel seized the opportunity to go behind the wheel.
Currently, Michel Terpins drives the T-Rex car and competes in the Prototypes T1 category like his Rodrigo. Michel Terpins is quite impressive behind the wheel. Thanks to the services of his navigator and friend Maykel Justo, the duo has been able to win a number of competitions. One of the recent competitions the duo really impressed was the 25th edition of Sertões Rally. Despite lacking the podium position due to some mechanical issues on their vehicle Michel and Justo were able to make a name for themselves.
The Sertões Rally 25th edition was one of the hardest competitions ever to have been carried out in Brazil. In addition to the rough terrains and the bad weather, the drivers had to drive through three different states in Brazil. Despite this, Michel and Justo were able to maintain the led on the first two days of the competition before slowing down and stepping out on the third day after covering only 306 km. In the face of this disappointment, Michel was still impressed with the outcomes of the day. Michel also attributes most of the successes to his navigator Justo and points out that it is his hard work, dedication and drive that has helped them to win it all.
