Eminent Plastic Surgeon Rod J. Rohrich


Rodney J. Rohrich, M.D. is an eminent board certified plastic surgeon, professor, speaker and author who lives in Dallas, Texas. He’s generally referred to by the name “Rod.” Rohrich is celebrated all around the world due to his major works in reconstructive and plastic surgery. He has been at the forefront of many prominent technological and procedural developments that have seen been adopted by many plastic surgeons located all over the globe. Rohrich’s background and analysis has helped him make many reconstructive and plastic surgery procedures much more effectual. He’s also made many of these procedures much safer and more reliable for patients. Rohrich has over the years performed procedures on thousands and thousands of patients. He’s offered his services to a broad spectrum of individuals including everyday people and notable business leaders.

Rohrich serves as the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center’s department Chairman. As a professor, his specialties are in plastic surgery, orthopedic surgery and cell biology.

Rohrich’s name frequently shows up in media publications. He’s appeared in leading television programs, magazines and newspapers such as the Dallas Morning News, the View, Oprah, Allure, Newsweek and the Today Show. Rohrich also is frequently acknowledged in listings of the best doctors. He was called a “best doctor” in Texas Monthly Super Docs, America’s Top Plastic Surgeons, the U.S. News & World Report and D Magazine.

The doctor’s origins are far away from his current life. Rohrich began his life on a farm in the countryside of North Dakota. He received his undergraduate education at North Dakota State University. After that, he received his graduate training at the University of North Dakota. He attended medical school in Houston at the Baylor College of Medicine. After he earned his medical degree, he headed up to Michigan where he spent time at the University of Michigan Medical Center completing residencies in the plastic surgery and general surgery fields. He then successfully completed training at Oxford University and Harvard Medical School. In 1986, Rohrich became a part of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center’s department. He landed the Chairman position in 1991. Dr. Fritz E. Barton previously was employed as the Chairman.

Rohrich is married to Dr. Diane Gibby, who is also a well-known plastic surgeon in Dallas. Dr. Gibby concentrates on liposuction, tummy tucks and breast augmentation. Rohrich and Gibby live together in Dallas with their two children: daughter Rachel Nicole and son Taylor.
